What to do if you've lost your pet

Act immediately!

  1. Notify your local shelters, veterinary hospitals, Metro Animal Control at 615-862-7928, The Tennessean classifieds, and Facebook Lost and Found Pet Pages.
  2. Notify the Nashville Humane Association; complete a lost pet report describing the pet's:
  • Appearance: breed, coat type, ears, tail, age, weight, sex, color, etc.
  • Identification: tags, microchip, etc.
  • Location: where your pet lives, when and where your pet was last seen

  2. Include a photo of the pet

What to do if you found a pet:

  2. Include a photo of the pet
  3. Take the animal to your vet or local shelter to be scanned for a microchip; this could quickly lead you to the owner

You may also want to make up lost/found flyers to place in the area where you lost or found the pet.
