Adoption Policies
We at the
Nashville Humane Association
are proud to have placed
over
2101
companion pets
into homes in 2008!
|
Healthy and temperamentally sound animals who come to NHA looking for homes,
are placed in our Adoption Program. Adoption applicants are carefully screened
and, after all adoption requirements have been met, adopters may take their
new furry friend home.
Looking over our pet lists can be the first step to finding your new addition!
We also suggest visiting the cats and dogs at the shelter. Once you narrow down
to a couple prospective pets, advice from our Pet Service Representatives and
a Meet & Greet between family and pet will help you to determine which animal
will best accept your lifestyle.
The next step is to fill out an Adoption
Application. After the staff reviews and approves your application, it's
on to signing the adoption contract, paying the fee, and taking your new lucky
cat or dog home!
Adoption Fees
Effective May 1, 2007 Adoption Fees will range from $45 to $160 and will be based on breed, size, age, etc.
These fees include spay/neuter, vaccinations, and veterinary treatment received
at the shelter.
All animals will be spayed or neutered before leaving NHA!
All pets adopted from NHA are also eligible for 1 free month of PetCare pet
health insurance.
Thanks to a grant from the Pets
for the Elderly Foundation people age 60 and over may adopt a cat (1 year or older) or a dog (3 years or older) for free!
